First pic of A12 concrete victim


THESE are the first images of a woman who was left with horrifying injuries when a "bucket-sized" block of concrete was dropped on her car from a bridge.

Married Carol Manley, 57, is seen with a bloodied face, oxygen mask and severe bruising around her eyes in Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex, where she is receiving treatment.

She was left with fractures to her face and ribs and also internal injuries after the block was dropped from the bridge over the A12 at Galleywood, Essex.

Motorist Lisa Horne, 26, had a lucky escape 46 minutes earlier when a rock the size of a football smashed on her windscreen while she was driving with her 48-year-old mother.       Full Read
