Status - addicted? Take this simple test to find out if you are a Facebook 'addict' and need help

For some users, Facebook can be as addictive as any drug - and now scientists have designed a simple test to root out addicts from ordinary users.

Up to 85% of Facebook users log in daily - and using social networks activates the same 'reward' centres as sex, food and money - but the simple six point scale should root out those who use the site healthily from those who are dangerously hooked.

It is based on the same 'six core elements of addiction' that doctors use to identify alcoholics and drug addicts, as the signs are similar, said the journal Psychological Reports.              More
