'Spin' row over poll for Scotland's future, after Alex Salmond claims progress made on independence vote

Alex Salmond clashed with the Government yesterday over the date for a referendum on Scottish independence.

The row over the plans erupted as the Scottish First Minister met Scottish Secretary Michael Moore in Edinburgh.

Senior sources accused the Nationalist leader of attempting to ‘spin’ the meeting by claiming the British government has acceded to his demands to hold the vote in August 2014.    Read Full
