A copy of the first issue of Action Comics, in which Superman makes his debut, has sold for a record $2.16m (£1.4m).
The comic, graded a 9.0 for its condition, was auctioned online with a reserve price of $900,000.The name of the seller was not disclosed but there have been claims it was Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage.
The issue was published in 1938 and originally cost just 10 cents - its sale is the first time a comic book has broken the $2m barrier. Read Full
