TSX, loonie rebound after bleak Tuesday

The Canadian dollar and Canada's benchmark stock index both rebounded from heavy losses Tuesday to post modest gains on Wednesday.

The S&P/TSX composite index sat at 12,255 on Wednesday morning, up 140 points or more than one per cent on the day. That's a marked departure from Tuesday, when the benchmark Canadian bourse closed down 136 points.
