Shoe lovers, rejoice!Macy’s flagship Herald Square store will undergo a $400 million makeover that will create the world’s largest women’s shoe department, a 39,000-square-foot, boot-filled behemoth that will feature up to 300,000 pairs of shoes.
Not since rival Saks Fifth Avenue launched a shoe department several years ago with its own ZIP code -- 10022-SHOE -- has there been this much buzz about retail shoe space.
