'Drunk' whistleblower's email alert

THE whistleblower whose email to Bathurst Regional Council led to inquiries that uncovered allegedly fraudulent activities in a third of the councils in NSW said yesterday that he had written the warning when he was blind drunk, but he stood by it.

The email said: ''I know for a fact your council has been ripped off $400,000 over the last 6 years on false purchase orders through your store … a name that u might know is geoff hadley and pinnacle and uts but I want a reward.''The whistleblower, whose name was suppressed yesterday by the head of the Independent Commission Against Corruption, David Ipp, QC, said he had worked for Universal Telemarketing Services Pty Ltd.   More Read
