Three seasons in ONE DAY: Spring showers sweep away summer sun and more than six inches of wintry snow falls overnight

The notoriously changeable British weather lived up to its billing today, delivering three seasons in just a few hours.

Scotland, which had basked in the hottest March on record, was hit by an Arctic front dumping more than six inches of snow overnight.

Meanwhile, much of southern England woke up to a summery dawn, then faced April showers and is now bracing itself for the arrival of a wintry cold spell from the north.

But resolute sun worshipers weren't quite ready to say goodbye to the last of the rays as many, with many heading to the beach ahead of the forecast chill.      More Read
