'Real men get raped': Row as advertising campaign uses Six Nations rugby tournament to encourage male sex assault victims to speak up

The last thing rugby fans expect to see on their way to a game is a poster adorned with the words Real Men Get Raped. 


However, an advertising campaign in London has done just that to encourage thousands of male sexual assault victims to speak up about their ordeals.

It features a rugby ball with a nail through it and the words 'Real Men Get Raped and Talking About It Takes Real Strength'.

But it has sparked controversy among some bloggers who argue the advert reinforces rather than challenges the stereotype that sexual assault never happens to 'real men'.         More
