Britain is braced for 4ins of snow

BRITAIN woke up to snow and heavy rain today as bad weather misery hit many morning commuters in the run up to Christmas.

Snow fell on many parts of Wales, the Midlands and parts of the South East during the early hours of this morning.

Forecasters have warned Brits to expect a freeze this weekend predicting up to four inches of snow.

Flooding and 70mph winds are also expected on the South Coast.
This morning the weather system brought high winds to the South, echoing gales that hit the area earlier this week.

Heavy rain hit some parts of the country — the Environment Agency put 34 flood alerts in place, including in the Midlands, the North West, the South East and the South West.    Read Full
