Walk of hope Para shows true grit as the nation remembers our heroes' sacrifice

DISABLED Para Ben Parkinson epitomised the selfless courage of Britain's servicemen and women yesterday by making a painful 100-yard walk to lay a Remembrance Sunday wreath.

The Lance Bombardier, the most seriously wounded British soldier in Afghanistan to survive, was told he would be bed-ridden for life after losing his legs and breaking his back, hips and ribs in a mine blast in 2006.

But yesterday he was determined to pay his respects to the colleagues who have died serving Britain in two world wars and the conflicts since.   Read More
