Two die in powerboat race crash in Florida; fuel added to concerns of risk of death in motorsports

Two racers were killed Wednesday after their powerboat barrel-rolled then flipped upside down at the Key West World Championship in Florida. 

In the third incident of death in motorsport in less than a month, questions are being asked about the inherent dangers for racers.

IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon died in a horrific multi-car crash during a race in Las Vegas, while Marco Simoncelli died in a motorcycle crash at the Malaysian MotoGP.

Herald Sun columnist Jill Singer has had a war of words with Formula 1 driver Mark Webber's wife and manager Ann Neal, with Singer claiming motorsports fans should have "blood on their hands".   Read More
