There's a bright idea: The energy-saving light bulb that lasts 20 years... and costs $60

The US government is to launch a revolutionary new light bulb which is the most energy-efficient yet and lasts for 20 years.

There's only one snag. It costs $60.

The bulb was developed after Congress launched the the $10-million L Prize competition in 2007 to find a bulb to replace the energy-wasting 'incandescent' 60-watt bulb.      Full Read
