Sydneysiders looking to escape today's soaring temperatures with a
cool ocean dip had to do so without a view as thick fog engulfed the
city's northern beaches this morning.
The fog began moving in about 9am, but the blanket should lift by early-to-mid afternoon, Weatherzone meteorologist Alex Krisman said.
Mr Krisman said the fog was the result of a "cold eddy" sitting off the coast - warm moist winds being drawn across cold air condensing to cause fog. Full Read
