Borneo bridge collapse toll rises

At least 11 people are now known to have died and more than 30 remain missing after a bridge collapsed in Indonesia.

The accident happened on Saturday in East Kalimantan on Borneo island.

Officials said a steel cable snapped while the bridge, which resembled the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, was being repaired.

The collapse sent cars, buses and motorcycles into the Mahakam river below.

Some of the victims are believed to be trapped in submerged vehicles.      More Read
