'15-Minute Strike' Proposed Over Pensions


Public sector workers could be allowed to strike for 15 minutes without losing pay if their unions call off full-scale industrial action, a Cabinet minister says.

Cabinet Minister Francis Maude suggested the idea in an interview with the Financial Times, saying: "We're willing to accommodate some kind of token action."

Unions have called a day of action on November 30 against a planned overhaul of public sector pensions, which could involve more than two million workers going on strike, the biggest number since the 1979 Winter of Discontent.   Read Here
