The fourth annual ‘Springfield Making Strides Against
Breast Cancer’ walk, coming up at the Illinois State
Fairgrounds,
will witness the participation of more than 1,000 walkers in 90 teams
--- and, as per the officials organizing the event, the participation
for the 5K walks this year will apparently be “well above” the 2010
event in which 70 teams took part.
About the participation in the event this time round, Shayne Squires - spokeswoman for the Illinois division of the
American Cancer Society – said that people who have not registered in advance for the Sunday event but are desirous of taking part in the walk can
register themselves at the venue itself, in the morning.
