Clinton to arrive in Pakistan today for talks

New Delhi: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Thursday as part of her tour of Islamic countries. Clinton is likely to make a policy statement on Pakistan and Afghanistan. 

Clinton's visit comes at a time when Pakistan has warned the US against unilateral military offensive.

Talks will be aimed at pressing the Pakistan's leadership to crack down on the Haqqani network to facilitate the process of reconciliation in neighbouring Afghanistan. Clinton is expected to meet with Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.   Read More
