As an avid Batman fan, my opinion of Arkham City might have
been coloured before I even sat down to play. But after blasting through
as much content as possible, this game is deserving of nearly every
accolade I can throw at it. An improvement on the original Arkham Asylum, Arkham City
is firing on all cylinders. The impressive technical upgrades have been
melded perfectly with superb design and an obvious love for all things
Batman.
To give Arkham City context a basic knowledge of Arkham Asylum would be helpful but is by no means necessary. Quincy Sharp, newly elected mayor of Gotham City, has used the events of the first game to convince the public a mega-prison in Gotham is a good idea. He walls off a section of the city and announces the mysterious psychiatrist Dr. Hugo Strange as warden. Strange's new prison has one rule: don't try to escape. But inside Arkham City, anything goes.
