New Zealand's most famous racehorse, Phar Lap's skeleton will finally stand tall once it is given a makeover after 73 years of standing in an unnatural posture.
After his death in 1932 and after having dominated the Australian racing during the Great Depression, Phar Lap's body parts were donated to museums in New Zealand and Australia.
His skeleton was displayed at New Zealand's Dominion Museum and his mounted hide was featured in the Melbourne Museum. His heart was donated to the Institute of Anatomy in Canberra, and is now at the National Museum of Australia. More
