Lotto lout stole £11 booze and sarnie

LOTTO lout Michael Carroll, who scooped £9.7million in 2002, stole booze and a sandwich worth £11 from a shop. 

Former jackpot winner Carroll, 28, is now on benefits after blowing the dosh on drugs, jewellery and fast cars.

He admitted theft on Wednesday and was given a nine-month conditional discharge.

Carroll told West Norfolk Magistrates' Court in King's Lynn: "I'd had a few drinks and picked up some Strongbow and something to eat and walked out.

"I just wasn't thinking. I went back and paid for it later."

The court heard Carroll had been caught on CCTV taking the items from Morrisons in Downham Market, Norfolk, on January 20.      Read More
