Two young girls had to be rescued
after they got trapped in mud trying to save their dog 300ft out into a
harbour - which then managed to get out on its own.The 11-year-olds waded out to where the little terrier was stranded but became stuck up to their waists, unable to move as their pet ran back to shore.
Nearby dog walkers raised the alarm when they noticed the girls had got into difficulty and called the coastguard. More Read
