Woman student, 22, 'savagely raped' after she was thrown off night bus because she was 20p short on cost of fare

A law student was dragged into a park and savagely raped after being ‘turfed off’ the last bus home because she was 20p short of the £5 fare, a court has heard.

The 22-year-old victim was left stranded in a city centre at 3am after the bus driver refused to wait a few moments so she could withdraw extra money from a nearby cash dispenser.

But after walking for less than a mile, the prosecution claim she was targeted by drink-fuelled Joseph Moran, who then allegedly launched a ‘savage’ attack which was ‘almost devoid of any mercy’, a court heard.                More Read
