A 94-YEAR-OLD woman suffered horrific injuries in an attack as she slept in
her own bed.
Emma Winnall remains seriously ill and sedated in hospital after suffering a
fractured skull, a broken arm and wrist and a partially severed finger in
the attack on Monday night.
The pensioner underwent emergency surgery, including having metal plates inserted into her arm.
She is showing signs of improvement and it is hoped she will make a full recovery.
Detectives investigating the incident in Birmingham have been unable to determine a motive for the attack. More Read
