‘Cockney’ parrot forges firm friendship with tree surgeon

TREE surgeon Michael Hickling leads a colourful life – with a parrot by his side at all times.

Yellow-headed Amazon Sammy and the 56-year-old have become inseparable.

The pair are often seen strolling down the road in Carlton, Nottingham together or enjoying a fry-up in a cafe.

They even attend open mic nights in local clubs where the singing bird has become something of a celebrity.

And Sammy is at liberty to fly the nest at any time.

“I wouldn’t have him in a cage, he’s here for as long as he wants to be,” said Michael.         Full Read
