Cops launch murder probe into death of girl, 6, at campsite

COPS have launched a murder probe after a six-year-old girl suffered a cardiac arrest and died on a family camping trip.

A man, 30, and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder after paramedics received reports the youngster was “fitting and not breathing”.

When they arrived the girl’s parents were attempting CPR.

Hampshire officers sealed off a large tent at Holmsley campsite on the outskirts of the New Forest after rushing to the scene at around 1am today.

Camper Dave MacKenzie, from Alton, Hants, said: “I heard a police car engine at about midnight and stuck my head out and saw it had its headlights on one tent.         More Read
