City girl's pool death: Did super-fit executive overdo it in gym before suspected heart attack?

A super-fit City high-flier was found dead in the pool at her health club.


Elsa Carneau, 25, was discovered face down in the water following a suspected heart attack.


She was a regular at the £145-a-month Virgin Active club, which is close to Hyde Park in Kensington, West London, and which also includes a luxury gym and spa.

One line of inquiry is whether Miss Carneau’s death was triggered by her over-exerting herself in the gym before swimming.


The Imperial College graduate was a 200m runner who represented her university at athletics.


Staff tried to revive her before paramedics took her to hospital where she was pronounced dead.        More Read
