Two schoolgirls savagely raped on a
school trip to Belize drank rum and played 'spin the bottle' with their
attacker after he used his 'laddish' charm to get into their hut, a
court has heard.
The 'large and frightening' man spent up to three hours in the jungle shack occupied by the 15- and 16-year-old girls before the candle was blown out and he attacked them, a High Court judge was told.
The two women, who are now in their 20s, say they will never get over the trauma of being raped during the 'character-building' trip to Central America with their Kent school in 2005.
Mr Justice Mackay said: 'It is the claimants’ case that he barged in. Certainly, once inside, he plays them and starts off being nice.
'There’s a bit of drinking, a bit of spin-the-bottle. Plainly they were all taking pains to keep the noise down.' Read Full
