CANTON, Ga. -- Hundreds gathered for a public service to mourn a slain Georgia girl.
The gathering for Jorelys Rivera at First Baptist Church in Canton Saturday followed a private family service at a local funeral home. WSB-TV reported the church was packed for a service that ended with the release of doves.
The Rivera family plans to bury Jorelys' body in Puerto Rico.
"It's been tough over the last couple days with the candlelight vigil last night and viewing, it's really hard on everybody, especially those with children," Chris Kerby told WSB on Saturday during the service. "As a father of three, I can't imagine what they are going through. It's difficult at best and we're here to support them. Read Here
