Don't look down ... engineers remove last dish from BT Tower


AN engineer dangles more than 500ft above London as he removes the last satellite dish from the capital's BT Tower.

The man is part of a team of four who spent around three hours detaching the final of 29 antennas that were once used to beam most telly shows around the country.

The dishes weighing nearly half a ton have been defunct for years following the introduction of fibre optic technology at the tower.

Onlookers watched from below as the workers used a crane stationed on the 31st floor to lower the satellite dish on to a landing platform on the 28th floor.      More Read
