Blast hits near Brit embassy

AN explosion has rocked the area around the British embassy in Bahrain today, the Gulf State's Interior Ministry said.

British embassy press officer Al Taher al Jamal said: "I can confirm that there was an explosion".

He could not say if the mission was targeted but confirmed there had been no casualties.

The ministry tweeted: "A blast came from the front part of a bus parked near the British embassy.

"Security services are present in the area to take the needed legal measures."      Read More
