A frustrated group of East Village residents has taken a 21st century approach to an ancient problem -- a lazy landlord.
Claiming problems ranging from leaky pipes to swarms of rats, a resident of one of the 15 buildings owned by Jakobson Properties has started a Twitter feed to shame the company into fixing his home.
Since he began two weeks ago, anonymous renter’s-rights advocate “John” has been joined by dozens of others.
“I’ve talked to so many people, and everybody is complaining about things,” said John, who works in the tech industry and maintains the Twitter account @Jakobson_fix_it. More
