Olympic £5 coins unveiled

THE official £5 coins for the London 2012 Games — created by student design competition winners — are unveiled today.

Architecture student Saiman Miah, 24, chose a detailed sweep of London's skyline for his Olympic coin, with pictograms of athletes running around the edge.

Saiman, studying at Birmingham School of Architecture, said: "I merged old and new — classic landmarks like Big Ben and St Paul's with pictograms of Olympic sports."   More
