Eiffool Tower Fake wooden Paris built to trick WW1 bombers

A FAKE Paris was built to fool bombers in the First World War, it has emerged.

The second version of the French capital — 15 miles north of the first — included illuminated streets, bogus factories and a replica Champs-Élysées.

It was even put up on a similar stretch of the River Seine.

Air defence chiefs hoped the wooden copy would lure Germany's primitive long-range bombers away from their real target.   More Read
