Revenues dipped 3pc to £9.7bn, but the telecoms giant grew margins as it
continued to strip costs out of the business.
Its customer-facing division, BT Retail, signed up166,000 new broadband
customers during the three months to 30 September, taking its total to 6m.
Of those new customers, nearly 88,000 signed up for BT’s superfast “infinity”
service, doubling its customer base to 300,000 over the last six months and
helping to push the division’s average revenues per user up by £5 to £335 a
