Labor blamed for shortfalls in training new police in NSW

NOT enough police have been trained to meet the "authorised strength" target of 15,806 officers, with the state government blaming its predecessor for the shortfall. 
 
After promising hundreds more police in the state budget, a funding shortfall from the previous government means the police force is not at its authorised strength and will not be for some months.

Labor did not put enough money in the budget last year to recruit enough officers and not enough students went through the police academy, the government said.    Full Read
