FBI investigates after newborn is found dead on Carnival Dream cruise ship

Port Canaveral, Florida -- The FBI picked up the investigation of a dead newborn found on a cruise ship that returned to Port Canaveral on Saturday.

On Wednesday, a Carnival Dream employee discovered the deceased newborn in a guest cabin, according to a Carnival Cruise Line release.

The cruise line informed authorities in St. Maarten about the incident and the baby's mother, a 20-year-old female guest traveling on board the Dream, was detained pending further investigation, Carnival said in the statement   More Read
