Egyptian 'vanity set' from the time of Tutankhamun goes on sale - but the hair pins and make-up could have been for a man

An incredibly rare 'vanity kit' that belonged to an ancient Egyptian and includes a razor, hair pins and a pot with traces of eye make-up has gone on sale.

The 3,500-year-old grooming kit dates from the time of the child king Tutankhamun and was probably buried with the owner. It's not clear whether the kit was intended for a man or a woman - but it was made for someone of high status. 


The deceased would have been keen to look his or her best in the afterlife.  Read Full
