Dubai gains 84,000 newcomers to peak at almost 2m residents

Dubai’s population swelled by nearly 84,000 people to peak at 1.984 million on Sunday and maintain the emirate’s position as an attractive destination for foreigners, according to official data.

From around 1.9 million at the end of 2010, the emirate’s total population, including Emiratis and expatriates, grew to around 1.929 million at the end of the first quarter and 1.963 million at the end of the second quarter, showed the figures by government Statistics Centre in Dubai.  Full Read
