Diabetes: Pros and Cons

Diabetes has been known for over 3,000 years now and is a mysterious affliction that causes an individual to urinate excessively. People have used methods ranging from ants that were attracted to the sweet urine to people who actually tasted the urine to diagnose diabetes.

The first case where insulin was used to treat the disease was when a young boy, dying of diabetes, was injected with pureed canine pancreas and the breakthrough of using insulin to control blood sugars was made.
