School pupils as young as 11 locked in tiny, dark 'padded cell' as punishment for being naughty

Misbehaving schoolchildren were put in a tiny 'padded cell' to calm down and locked inside by teachers, according to a damning report.

The darkened room with padding on the floor, walls and ceiling was used for children aged 11 to 14 in an school unit for unruly youngsters.

But it was closed after just six weeks when a social services investigation revealed how pupils were locked inside against their will.      More Read
