Driver hit by concrete block has a lucky escape

A DRIVER had a narrow escape when a concrete block was dropped on his car from a bridge. 

Callum Jackson, 23, was driving on an A-road when the missile smashed through his windscreen, brushed past him and landed on a back seat.

He suffered bruising to his ribs and was left shaken by the incident on the A442 in Telford, Shropshire, but appeared otherwise unharmed.

He managed to keep control of the car and pull over on to the hard shoulder to call 999.
