sporting their own mobile phones as a new push for students to gain a
"licence" to take them to school gains traction.
Parents increasingly are giving children phones for safety reasons, despite experts warning of the risks for youngsters, the Herald Sun reported.
Raising Children Network contributor, psychologist Tena Davies, said without proper controls smartphones could expose children to inappropriate material such as pornography.
"It can be confusing to put controls on phones and most parents don't realise how much children can still access," she said.
