Man strips and crawls on to icy river to rescue dog

A MAN has been branded "foolish" by emergency services after stripping to his underpants and crawling across a frozen river on his hands and knees to rescue his DOG. 

The dog walker's moment of madness was captured in a bystander's photograph as he made his way across the frozen water.

After slowly inching across the river towards his stricken pet, the ice suddenly gave way and the man fell into the water about 30ft away from the bank.

Amazingly he managed to haul his small terrier-type dog on to the ice before clambering back to safety.    More Read
