USUALLY by this time of year Bondi Beach is swarming with people soaking up sunshine, but this summer it has become one of the loneliest places in Sydney as the city shivers through its coldest start to summer in decades.
Yesterday was the coolest December morning in 16 years: 11.8C, or 7C below average.
And things didn't get much better from there. Both the city and Parramatta reached tops of 19C, with a stiff breeze making it feel even chillier.
