A Sydney study finds why animals move in packs


THE often mesmerising synchronised movements of herds of animals, flocks of birds and schools of fish have been explained for the first time by Sydney scientists. 
 
Using a school of Mosquito fish the scientists found they use a set of simple rules to stop bumping into each other.

 ``Some of the most incredible sights in nature happen when animals form into groups and move together as if choreographed,''   James Herbert-Read, lead author of the paper and a PhD student in the University of Sydney's  School of Biological Sciences, said yesterday.     Read Full
