Roosters return to downtown Ocean Springs

OCEAN SPRINGS -- Carl, Ricardo and General have returned to downtown Ocean Springs to roost, literally.

Animal control officers brought the roosters back to DeSoto Street on Monday after they were removed for the weekend, Mayor Connie Moran said.

“They were very happy to be released,” she said. “But they were a little indignant at being removed in the first place.”

At last week’s Board of Aldermen meeting, Alderman Matt McDonnell said he had received complaints from businesses about the roosters roaming around downtown. He asked that they be removed, and Alderman Chic Cody said there were people volunteering to take them.    Full Read
