INSPIRATIONAL skipper Michael Clarke
produced one of the greatest innings of his international career to
save Australia from major embarrassment in the first Test against South
Africa at Newlands.
Arriving at the crease at 3-40, Clarke overcame an early onslaught to post a chanceless 107 his 16th Test ton, second as skipper and undoubtedly one of his most important innings for Australia.
The 30-year-old reached his century from 108 balls and remained unbeaten as the tourists limped to 8-214 before bad light and rain ended play early on day one. More
