British soldier, 24, arrested after young mother is found stabbed to death in front of her four-year-old son

A serving British soldier is being quizzed on suspicion of murder after a young mother was stabbed to death in front of her four-year-old son.


Ian Lowe, 24, was detained after his girlfriend Leanne McNuff, also 24, was found knifed to death at her semi-detached family home in Droylsden, Greater Manchester.


Police fear Leanne's young son Jayden witnessed the killing at 7.45pm on Sunday night and may have to speak to him. 


The dead woman's mother Margaret lives next door and is being comforted by relatives.
Military officials have confirmed the arrested soldier serves with the 1st Battalion the Duke of Lancaster's regiment.       Read More
